Half Buckle Vatanai Ningaloo
This custom arrived at its new home today, and I have been sent gorgeous photos, and this lovely comment:
Clearly this is a very special carrier as slings come and go here all the time but they all (all chldren) wanted to play
Sarah's stitching is perfect and she has done a fabulous job converting our needs into a sling - this will live here until our slingee's have no need to be slung.

Standard sized Wrap tai with owl applique
I am seriously impressed with this comfy carrier. I have mostly had wrap conversions with lots of padding in the straps and stiff waistbands. Mostly because I fear for my shoulders now that DS is getting to be a lumpy one year old! ;-)
This carrier is uber comfy. It ticks all the boxes with regard to support and comfort. Its roomy enough with my 1yr old little boy, so I would say its a great size too.
But the thing that sets this carrier apart from all the others, is its style/design/shape. Its hard for me to find the right words to articulate what I mean exactly, esp through my brain fog induced by lack of sleep and the hectic nature of a recently upright and mobile toddler, and a cheeky one at that.
The shape of it feels very flowing to me. I can sense that its maker is artistic and sensitive to the materials she has used to make it. It feels creative and I really do love the way it flows together as a carrier.
The applique is a triumph too. Owls are always a winner here!
Amitola Wrap tai toddler sized:
"We love this gorgeous Wrap-Tai. I'm a mei-tai girl at heart, I couldn't get the hang of wraps but loved the feel of them so a Wrap-Tai is the ideal compromise for us. The fabric is beautifully soft and lightweight and the body of the carrier has been well designed and moulded brilliantly around my little girl. I especially liked the support at the top of the body which sits at an angle. I used it both folded it down inside the house and upright when we were outside in the wind, and then when my little girl was asleep as extra support. Despite being very soft and mouldable, this carrier wasn't in the least be restrictive, my little girl is a protester if carried snugly but she was quite happy. As for me, well I loved the gently padded waist and especially shoulders, which are my problem area. The width of the straps were just perfect, distributing weight brilliantly. I found the waist straps long for me, but the shoulder straps perfect length. An altogether very comfy carrier! As for looks, well I loved the overall design, the full panel and contrasting applique and headrest. I am a great fan of tapered ends so was pleased to see them here. I'll be really sad to pass this carrier on."
Toddler Sized Wrap Tai
"Testing the amitola (Wrap Tai) again - despite my bad back/hips he felt weightless and well supported. Comfy on shoulders and could hardly feel it at all on my waist . I would descibe it as toddler or preschool size, as it is 20" wide. It came with a headrest which we folded down to use as arms out padding. Sarah had done something wonderful with the waistband, which was padded and ever so slightly curved. I'm not normally a fan of padded waistbands as they can be a bit rigid but this molded to me really well and I was not aware of it at all when carrying.
The shoulder straps were padded just enough without being too bulky, and the whole thing was supportive enough for my heavy toddler, plus the amitola stripes are beautiful. "

Standard sized Wrap Tai
"It was really soft and supportive( OH wore her to climb Thorpe Cloud , hill/mountain in the peaks and had her on for hours with not a hint of backache!) Padded straps and a head rest that is super snuggly as well as acting as arms out padding. I didnt want to love it as much as i do i wanted to stay loyal to my wraps i may even be converted"
Toddler Sized Mei tai
I really like the supportive head rest and think it will be really appreciated for babies and younger toddlers. The width of the straps was perfect for me and I liked the angle of them too, however, I did find they slipped a little which may be because I tend to wear MT straps wide on my shoulders anyway. The waist band felt really comfortable and although I don't think I could be prised away from wraps I did find it supportive and think that the MT lovers will be very happy to have another UK based WAHM option to choose from"
Pre-school sized Flower power Mei Tai with Seat darts.
Aren't we lucky to have another talented mama who can make these MTs?
If you have a big kid who is over 2 or older and you want a big, comfy, supportive and well made MT, you will like the pre-schooler size MT that Sarah (fairysary) (creator of Delphi Slings and Pretty Things )has sent me to test.
I have tried many big size MTs and I have my favourite bits from each one of them. The *Tester*Delphi Slings and Pretty Things Pre-schooler MT has all of them. I can't help but compare them all when it comes to decide if I like a MT.
-Of Beanslings MT (they stopped making them), I liked the way the shoulder straps came out of the body in an angle..... The DS&PT Pre-schooler Mt straps are even better.
-Of Extended Colibri Mt (again, not being made anymore), the padding was exceptional.... The DS&PT Pre-schooler MT#s padding on the straps (shoulder and waist) and body is even better.
-Of NHT MTs (Not being made either) I like the high/ wide body ....The DS&PT Pre-schooler Mt's body is even better, because it has a brilliant headrest that can be folded down. There is no need for a hood with this high body and the headrest!
MY dd is almost 2, but wears size 4-5 clothes. I need a MT that is super supportive and can stand the long nursery run and it is comfy enough for her to have naps in it on the way back this winter.... This preschooler MT ticks all the boxes.
I tend to buy MTs with longer shoulder straps to tie Tibetan. This tester's straps were standard 2 m, but I must say, the straps were so lovely padded I really didn't miss not tieing Tibetan. They stayed firmly on my shoulders.
I realised that I get more out of this tester MT (I get a better seat and wider body) if I lexi twist or cross the straps under bumb rather than lexi twist them on my dd's back. (See photos)
I could do with a bit wider seat, at the moment it is abour 18.5 ". I have talked to Sarah and she is already planning to make it much wider .
I forgot to say that the MT is reversible.

Review from this lovely Mama:
I have this beautiful hand made carrier on holiday with me at the moment. It is so lovely.
Reasons I love it:
-It is beautiful, the wrap it is made from is so vibrant and lovely.
-It is really soft yet sturdy
-It is pretty spot on size wise for DS and me. He's 1 year but a little tinker.
-It has a really beautiful little crochet applique and when you have a front carry you can stroke it!

Pre-school sized MT.
I almost exclusively wrap these days, but I was lucky enough to be a tester for Sarah's gorgeous pre-schooler mei tai. It is a beautifully sewn carrier, and the fabrics and colours are stunning. We gave it a good test run this morning - I told Aidan that he needed to stay on my back the entire time while we had a run to the shops as we were short of time today, and we could get it done quicker like this. Well, it was true, but it also meant that I could try it out for a longer period of time.
It is very well padded in all the right places, and it is very comfy both round the waist and on the shoulders. The shoulder straps are quite wide, but not so that they would slip down. The head rest should come in handy for tired kids and I like the fact that you don't get tangled up in any head rest ties when you tie the mei tai. Although my "I don't like my head and line of sight constricted in any way, thank you very much" boy immediately wrestled the head rest down. He did tell me, though: "This is a very nice and snuggly mei tai, mummy."
It is a really good size and the knee to knee support is pretty good. I wore it for almost an hour and I still found it comfy at the end of it. All in all, I think it's a really good, solid, comfy mei tai. Great!!!

Amitola toddler sized tester.
We have this here with us now and its fab its so comfy when i first looked at it i thought this is not going to fit lo it looked so wide and i had to go and measure it i think i got it to 20" wide and 16" high not including the waist band i was like this is not going to fit not a hope as it was not high enough i soon took my words back its an amazing fit possibly could be a little taller in the back for growing room but still it fits lovely
I suffer with fibromyalgia and i have very picky shoulders this was so comfy i could hardly tell i had a 28lb 13 month old on my back it just moulded perfectly around us both
I liked the headrest i normally like to have a hood although we dont use them but this worked well for us as lo doesnt like anything over his head when he falls asleep but this just sheltered him a little which is all we need
i have to send it to the next mama tomorrow and i think that i will miss this

Pre-school Flower Power MT
My partner really loved this sling - his main job at the moment is to do the bouncing off to sleep. He found the sling very comfy and easy to use. We loved how tiny it made our son look (he is 3 years old)
As you can see it fitted him perfecctly. I had a go with him on my back - he normally doesn't like a back carry as he says it isi too tight - but he loved this. I guess because it was bigger it didn't feel so restrictive for him.
It was great to find a MT that fits him as the ones we have don't support his legs as well. Is there anything else we need to tell you?
We will defintiely be interested in buying one once you have some for sale.
Many thanks for allowing us to test this sling.
